It’s been a month since I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Portrait Masters Conference in Phoenix, Arizona and since then my brain has had a hard time turning off. At the closing keynote, my mentor Sue Bryce said “You know what you need to do.” and I just sat there wide eyed, nodding my head as if I was the only person in the room. In reality though, I was surrounded by 500 of my peers, who were also nodding their heads.
Since coming home I’ve allowed myself to take a step back and really think about my goals and what sets my heart on fire. I want people to have photos of themselves that they love. and I want so badly for people to have those photos printed and displayed and admired and kept for future generations. So that’s what I’m going to do. It’s not that simple and yet at the same time it is that simple.
So these days I’m busy juggling shooting and editing, updating my website, ordering new samples, working on my marketing and taking care of my family – the littlest one having just turned one last week. I am so incredibly fortunate to have a partner who is currently on leaving allowing me to carve off time each day to learn new retouching skills, research lighting gear and work on the never ending list of awesomeness from my time at the Portrait Masters Conference.
So one of the things I knew I needed to do was to start this blog. So welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
